.DISCUSSION...

KEY MESSAGES:

- Gusty southeast winds this afternoon and evening will create
  rough waves on Fort Peck Lake and elevated fire weather
  conditions.

- Look for a warm up this weekend before the next widespread
  chance for rain by Sunday into Monday.

WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW:

High pressure moves into the northern Plains with gradient across
eastern Montana. This will bring increased southeast winds into
the region, enough for a Lake Wind Advisory across Fort Peck Lake.

As a large, deep low off the Pacific coast moves onshore,
southwest flow will increase into Montana along with warmer
temperatures and increase in moisture. As the trough slides east,
look for more widespread shower and slight t-storm chances Sunday
into Monday. Most ensemble guidance at this time favors the
southeast zones for getting at least a wetting rain, but a few
solutions show much of the area remaining dry.

FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS:

Moderate confidence exists on the widespread rain chances for
Sunday and Monday, with low confidence on the occurrence of any
amounts of a half inch or more. The NBM was followed closely
through the period, except for going with adding some 90th
percentile for winds today.

&&

.AVIATION...
VFR with mostly clear skies through the TAF period. Winds will
become gusty out of the SE at 20 to 30 kts this afternoon.

&&

.GGW WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES...
Lake Wind Advisory from 10 AM this morning to 9 PM MDT this
evening for Central and Southeast Phillips-Central and Southern
Valley-Garfield-McCone-Petroleum.
